Mairi’s Wedding

One of the most instantly recognisable of the reeling tunes, Mairi’s wedding has the (possibly unfair) reputation of being the most difficult of the reels. However, with a little careful study it makes perfect sense - the most important thing to keep in mind is that the dancing couple always need to turn right!

Steps

• Number ones turn, cast off, LH turn
• Number ones go around in a 4 leaf clover shape
  always turning right and passing round the other people with their right shoulder
• Whenever a person is passed around by a number 1 man/lady they switch places with their diagonal
